Get Baptized

We believe that baptism is an important step of obedience for every person who has accepted Christ as Lord and Savior.

It is often the most profound way in which we share the Gospel with others. We would consider it a privilege to walk with you as you take this next step on your faith journey!

What We Believe About Baptism…

What Does Baptism Symbolize?

The Bible teaches that Jesus Christ shed His blood on the cross to pay for the sins of all mankind, that whoever places their faith in Christ as their Savior will live with Him forever. Apart from putting our trust in Jesus as a Holy sacrifice for us, there is no other way to be in a right relationship with God. When we accept God’s gift of salvation, we are welcomed into the family of God. We gladly announce and celebrate this life-changing reconciliation with God through baptism.

Who Should be Baptized?

We believe that everyone who accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior are to be baptized. Jesus instructed us to be baptized and to baptize others. Consequently, we view baptism as an act of obedience to God that, while unnecessary for salvation, demonstrates our submission to Him.

How Does Baptism Take Place at Grace?

We make a big deal out of baptism here at Grace. After all, what could possibly be more worthy of celebration than making the life changing decision to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior? We include baptism during several Sunday services each year and arrange individual baptisms when and where needed to celebrate this holy observance. We are baptized, as Jesus was, by being submerged in water. This symbolizes what takes place in our hearts at the time of salvation; a complete cleansing of sin from our hearts. When we go under the water, we share in Jesus’ death and, coming up out of the water, we are resurrected and made brand new. It is, without a doubt, a powerful experience for both those who are being baptized and those who are there to share in the celebration.

Infant Christening

We recognize that some churches practice infant christening as a way to enter a child into the family of God. We believe that only a personal and informed acceptance of Christ’s death on the cross for our sins can do that and understand Scripture to teach that only those who can intentionally and knowingly accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior qualify for baptism.

Baby Dedications

During Sunday Services, we often join with parents who are making a commitment to raise their children in accordance with the teachings of Scripture. We refer to these times of blessing and celebration as baby dedications.
